Duncan Milne

Duncan Milne is an employment lawyer with Bow River Law LLP.  Originally called to the Alberta bar in 2008, he has enjoyed a varied practice including being admitted to the law societies of New South Wales, Australia and in New Zealand.

When Duncan returned to Alberta, he practiced in-house and for administrative bodies and then returned to private litigation practice. With a renewed passion for employment law, labour law, and human rights disputes, Duncan supports his clients by leveraging his experience in advocating before all levels of Court in Alberta, numerous administrative and regulatory bodies, and in alternative dispute resolution processes.

Duncan grew up in Calgary.  He attended the University of Calgary where he obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees in Geography and Political Science.  Prior to law school, Duncan operated a regulatory consultancy company, often appearing as an expert witness before the Alberta energy regulator.   Duncan graduated from the University of Calgary Faculty of Law in 2007.

Following law school Duncan worked for a national law firm in Calgary until 2010, when he and his family relocated to Australia, then New Zealand, and then back to Calgary.

In his free time Duncan is found outside, usually close to the mountains, travelling with his family, or cooking.  Outside of law, Duncan has served on various boards, supported grassroots cycling programs, and has written works of fiction.
